BACKGROUND
The Tauranga Business Awards are an annual event recognising and celebrating excellence, innovation and success of businesses within the Western Bay of Plenty throughout different categories - lead by the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce with main sponsors Westpac.
THE BRIEF
As an annual awards night, the Westpac Business Awards celebrates local businesses in various categories from innovation, sustainability, service, excellence and more... The brief was to create a brand that represented this, which is where the LOVE LOCAL brand was born – celebrating and acknowledging local businesses who are making a difference in our community.
IMPLEMENTATION
The branding process started with creating the feature imagery – flat style illustrations of the Bay of Plenty cityscape, local flora and native birds. We selected a vibrant colour palette inspired by the beautiful feathers of our native tui bird and our local flora – dark blue, green and purple.
With the design theme and style established, we then developed the LOVE LOCAL brand and tagline ‘Celebrate, Support, Acknowledge’ to incorporate cohesively through the event collateral including advertising, invitations, digital material, certificates, event menu's and programme, PowerPoint slides, LED screens and signage.
