Legacy Funerals

Legacy Funerals occupies a unique position in the funeral industry and indeed on the New Zealand charity scene. In a past life it was a successful business before being gifted by owner Greg Brownless to the Tauranga community.

Since 2007 Legacy Funerals has been operated by a Board of Directors and a dedicated team who provide complete bereavement care to families in its care. The fundamental difference though is that all of the profits generated are given back to the Tauranga community via community grants.

To date the Legacy Trust has gifted over $2,000,000 to more than 250 local community groups. Generosity that is only possible because of the choice that families have made in choosing Legacy Funerals.

Metro has acted as Legacy’s outsourced marketing department since the gifting was first proposed by Greg in 2006. We provide marketing advice, design, digital and PR services to the company and derive huge pleasure in being involved with such a charitable organisation.
